Snow and Naville Win in Macon

Revolution Fight League Relentless - Macon, Georgia - May 17, 2008

Several VMAC fighters competed at the Revolution Fight League's and Georgia Bout Productions' "RELENTLESS" event in Macon last night. Shawn Snow, Kamrin Naville, and Dicky Willson represented VMAC.

Snow earned his first professional win last night in a grand fashion. After landing a jab, his game opponent, from Fighter's Alley in Florida, clinched and executed a bear hug/trip takedown. Shawn fought to obtain the guard and then took his opponent's back, sunk in his hooks, applied a rear naked choke, rolled over, and stretched his opponent out for the victory. We believe the official time was less than 20 seconds.

Kamrin Naville won a tight game of human chess over Ben Pierce of Rush MMA in Macon. The grueling first round saw brutal stand upwith Naville leading in both striking and takedowns. The ground game had Naville on top most of time, working for submissions and delivering some strikes to Pierce. The middle of the round saw a stand up, vicious striking, and another takedown. Pierce was constantly working for his well renowned triangle and even reversed Naville. Then Pierce dropped a few shots as well. The end of the round had Naville in top position again.

After the break, Naville went out pushing the pace again. He landed several shots and took Pierce down again. Pierce hooked up his triangle and Naville passed. Once at the side, Naville caught Pierce in an arm triangle off the right side. Pierce fights for the half-guard as an escape attempt. Naville holds on. Pierce gets the half-guard. Naville holds on. Pierce works to get the full guard. Naville holds on and slips out of the half guard. Naville walks his hips away from Pierce and tightens the "Death Mask." Pierce taps giving Naville the win.

At the press conference after the event, both Pierce and Naville are cordial about each others abilities. Naville congratulates the promoters on a good show as well.Dicky Willson came up short at the event last night putting his amateur record at 3-1. His opponent from the Hardcore Gym, Sam Grizzle, pretty well dominated the match, landing a headkick at the opening of the first round and dominating the grappling. The second round saw Willson open with strong dirty boxing and get taken down by Grizzle. He eventually got caught in the rear naked choke and tapped.
